Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how toolsforweb handles information when you visit toolsforweb.com, use our tools, or contact us.
Most tools process your input locally in your browser. Certain tools require server processing, and the contact form collects the information you choose to submit. We do not sell your information or use tool input for advertising.
Browser-based tools
Browser-based tools process the text, numbers, and files you provide on your device. This input is not transmitted to toolsforweb servers for processing.
Some tools save settings or selected data in your browser for convenience. Closing a tab does not necessarily remove this locally saved information; see the local storage section below.
OpenStreetMap map images
The Map Area & Perimeter Calculator, Map Radius Calculator, GPS Coordinate Converter and Distance Between Two Points tool process coordinates locally but load map images directly from tile.openstreetmap.org. OpenStreetMap receives your IP address, the viewed tile coordinates and standard request metadata, including the referring website. No address search or route service is used.
Radius links include the chosen center coordinates, radius and unit after the # symbol; distance links include both coordinate pairs and the selected unit; area links include every boundary corner and selected area/perimeter units. This fragment is not sent with the initial page request, but anyone with the link can read it, and the map images requested when it opens reveal the viewed area to OpenStreetMap. Do not share a link containing a sensitive location.
Server-backed tools
Some tools send the information needed to complete your request to our server:
- What Is My IP reads the public IP address provided with your request and returns it to your browser. The endpoint does not intentionally store or log it.
- DNS Lookup sends the domain name you enter to our server, which queries its DNS resolver and returns the records.
- Sitemap URL Extractor, URL SEO Audit, Redirect Checker, and Link Preview Tester send the URL you enter to our server so it can retrieve and analyze the requested content.
- HTML to Markdown uses our server only in fetch-from-URL mode. Retrieved HTML is returned to your browser for conversion; pasted HTML is processed locally.
Handling of server requests
Our tool endpoints use submitted input to produce the requested result and do not intentionally retain or log that input. This is separate from request metadata processed by our hosting and infrastructure providers.
When a tool retrieves a URL, the destination website receives a request from our infrastructure and may record that request under its own policies. DNS queries are similarly processed by the resolver used to complete the lookup.
URL-fetching tools are restricted to public internet addresses and apply safeguards to prevent requests to private or internal networks.
Contact messages
When you contact toolsforweb, we receive your email address, message, and name if you choose to provide it. We use this information to handle your inquiry and respond.
Messages are delivered through Resend to the toolsforweb contact inbox and may remain in our email correspondence. They are not added to a marketing list. The contact form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile for abuse prevention.
Hosting and infrastructure
toolsforweb is hosted on Vercel. Hosting and infrastructure services may process technical request information, including IP addresses, browser information, request paths, and timestamps, to deliver the site, maintain reliability, and prevent abuse.
Provider retention and processing practices are governed by their policies and the service configuration. Tool input processing should not be understood as a guarantee that no infrastructure metadata is collected.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand site usage through aggregate statistics, such as page views, referring websites, device types, and browser information.
Vercel Web Analytics does not use tracking cookies or track visitors across different websites. It uses a temporary request-derived identifier for visitor statistics rather than a persistent account or advertising identifier.
We also offer optional Google Analytics 4. Nothing is requested from Google unless you accept analytics cookies in CookieYes; if you reject analytics cookies or do not answer, Google Analytics does not load. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and reports page views, referring websites, approximate location, and device and browser information.
We turn off Google's advertising features and Google signals, and we send only the page address without any query string or hash, so text you enter into a tool is not sent. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time with Cookie settings in the site footer; withdrawing stops reporting and removes the Google Analytics cookies from toolsforweb.com. Google processes this data under its own terms.

Cookie consent
CookieYes provides our cookie banner and preference controls. Its scripts, settings and images load from cdn-cookieyes.com, and its logging service at log.cookieyes.com records banner activity and consent choices. These requests involve your IP address and standard browser request information. Consent records include an identifier, your selected categories, the website domain and language. CookieYes describes storing IP addresses in masked form in its proof-of-consent records.
The cookieyes-consent cookie remembers your choice across visits. You can reopen preferences using Cookie settings in the footer. Our previous locally stored analytics choice is removed and is not treated as consent in CookieYes.

Abuse prevention
URL-fetching tools and the contact form use Cloudflare Turnstile. When a verification check loads, your browser communicates with Cloudflare, which processes the technical information required to assess the request. Our server verifies the resulting token before proceeding.
This service is used for abuse prevention, not advertising. Cloudflare handles information according to its applicable privacy terms.
Cookies and local storage
CookieYes sets a first-party cookie named cookieyes-consent to remember your cookie preferences. Third-party services may also use browser storage or cookies according to their policies and configuration. If you accept Google Analytics, Google sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an identifier) on toolsforweb.com until you withdraw your choice or they expire.
We use local storage for your theme preference, saved tools, and recently visited tools. Individual tools may also save data locally, including wheel spinner entries and recent UTM links. These values are stored in your browser rather than uploaded as an account profile.
You can remove locally saved information by clearing site data for toolsforweb.com in your browser. This resets saved preferences and tool data; the site defaults to its dark theme when no theme preference is stored.
Accounts and personal information
toolsforweb has no user accounts and does not require you to provide a name or email address to use its tools. Personal information may still be provided voluntarily in a contact message or included in data you submit to a server-backed tool.
Avoid submitting confidential information, passwords, or credentials through server-backed tools or the contact form.
Children's privacy
toolsforweb provides general-purpose utilities and is not directed specifically at children. We do not knowingly request personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our contact form, please contact us.
Policy updates
We may revise this policy as the service or its data handling practices change. The current version is published on this page with its last updated date.
