Privacy Policy

Summary

toolsforweb.com is designed to collect as little as possible. Most tools run entirely in your browser — none of the text or numbers you enter are sent anywhere. A small number of tools need a server, and this policy explains exactly what that involves.

There are no accounts, no advertising, no cookies, and no third-party tracking.

Tools that run in your browser

The majority of tools on the site - the Subnet Calculator, Base64, JSON Formatter, Regex Tester, UUID Generator, Cron Expression Parser, JWT Decoder, Markdown Preview and URL Encode / Decode among them - do all of their work locally in your browser.

The text, numbers, and files you provide to those tools are processed on your device and are never transmitted to toolsforweb.com or to anyone else. When you close the tab, that data is gone.

Server-backed tools

One tool cannot work without a server. DNS Lookup needs to send the domain name you enter to a resolver; no other tool in the catalog sends input anywhere.

For these tools, only the input needed to produce your result is sent. The request payload is not logged and results are not stored. This data is never sold or shared for marketing, and it is not used to build a profile of you.

Server-backed tools that are not yet live are listed as "coming soon" and send nothing until they launch.

Hosting and infrastructure

The site is hosted on Vercel. Like almost all web hosts, Vercel automatically records standard server logs for requests it serves, which include your IP address and browser user-agent string.

These logs exist for security and reliable operation. They are retained for a short period and are not combined with anything else to identify you.

Analytics

The site uses Vercel Analytics to understand which pages are visited. It is cookieless and aggregate: it does not set tracking cookies, does not store a persistent identifier for you, and does not track you across other websites.

Cookies and local storage

The site sets no cookies at all — not for tracking, and not for functionality.

The only thing stored on your device is your light or dark theme choice, kept in your browser's local storage under the key tfw_theme. It is read only by your browser to render the theme you picked, and is never sent to a server. Individual tools may also save their own settings locally in the same way.

Clearing your browser's site data for toolsforweb.com removes this value, and the site simply falls back to your system's colour-scheme preference.

No accounts

There is no sign-up and there are no user accounts, so the site holds no name, email address, password, or personal profile for you. Emailing the contact address is entirely optional.

Children's privacy

The site is a general-audience set of utilities and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Significant changes will be summarised at the top of the page.
