Maps
Measure map area and perimeter, convert GPS coordinates, find distance between two points, or draw a radius circle.
About Maps
Draw a boundary with the Map Area & Perimeter Calculator. Place corners on the map or enter coordinates, then read area in acres, hectares, square feet or square meters and perimeter in feet, meters, miles or kilometers. Edit corners, undo, copy results or share the boundary.
Measure distance between two map points or coordinate pairs. Place or drag the start and end markers, then read the great-circle distance in kilometers, miles, meters or nautical miles. Copy the result or share both locations in a map link.
Convert latitude and longitude between decimal degrees and degrees, minutes and seconds with the GPS Coordinate Converter. Copy either notation, choose a marker on the map, and open that point in the radius tool.
Draw a radius around a location with the Map Radius Calculator. Click the map or enter latitude and longitude, choose miles, kilometers or meters, then move the center or try a distance preset. The result shows the circle's approximate area, diameter and circumference, with a link you can copy to share that circle.
The radius calculator shows straight-line distances over a spherical Earth model. A circle does not show driving distance or how far you can travel in a given time. The map uses OpenStreetMap images loaded from its servers; measurements are calculated in your browser.
Questions
How do I calculate area and perimeter on a map?
Open the Map Area & Perimeter Calculator and place at least three corners in boundary order, or enter one latitude, longitude pair per line. The tool closes the shape automatically for its preview. Finish the boundary and drag corners to adjust it. Measurements are approximate and do not replace a property survey.
How do I measure distance between two points?
Open Distance Between Two Points, choose the start or end point and click the map, or enter latitude-first coordinate pairs. Drag either marker to adjust it and select your distance unit. The result measures the shortest arc on a spherical Earth, not road travel.
How do I convert GPS coordinates?
Open the GPS Coordinate Converter and enter latitude and longitude as decimal degrees or degrees, minutes and seconds (DMS). Copy either result. The tool changes the notation of a location; it does not transform between coordinate reference systems.
How do I draw a radius on a map?
Open the Map Radius Calculator, click a center point and enter a distance. Choose miles, kilometers or meters. You can also enter coordinates, drag the center marker, or pan the map and choose Use map center.
Can I draw a 5-mile or 25-mile radius?
Yes. Choose miles and select a 5, 10, 25 or 100-mile preset, or enter your own radius. All presets use the same calculator and can be shared with a link.
Is a map radius the same as driving distance?
No. A radius circle marks an equal straight-line distance from its center. Roads, bridges and travel conditions affect driving distance and time; this tool does not calculate routes.
