About
What this is
toolsforweb.com is a growing collection of small, focused web tools. Each one does a single job well: encode some text, calculate a subnet, convert a value, tidy up a piece of writing.
There is no dashboard to learn and no project to set up. You open a tool, use it, and leave. Everything is free.
Principles
A few ideas guide every tool on the site:
- Fast. Pages are light and load quickly, and the tools respond instantly.
- No sign-up. There are no accounts and nothing to register for.
- No ads. The site carries no advertising and no ad-network code.
- Privacy-first. Most tools run entirely in your browser, so the text and numbers you type never leave your device.
- Honest about the exceptions. A small number of tools need a server to work, and those are clearly marked.
Who runs it
toolsforweb.com is built and maintained by an independent developer. It is a personal project, not a company, and it is not funded by advertising or data collection.
How tools get added
New tools are added one at a time, when they are ready. A tool ships only once it works correctly, handles bad input gracefully, and is comfortable to use on a phone as well as a desktop.
Some tools that need a server are listed as "coming soon" until that part is built. DNS Lookup is one example: it needs a resolver running on the server before it can go live.
Recent additions include a JSON Formatter, Regex Tester, UUID Generator, Cron Expression Parser, JWT Decoder, Markdown Preview and URL Encode / Decode - all of them client-side.
Suggest a tool
If there is a small tool you keep wishing existed, send a note to hello@toolsforweb.com. Describe what it should do and what you would use it for. Suggestions are read, and they shape what gets built next.
