Why does the IP change?
Most consumer connections get a dynamic address that your internet provider rotates occasionally, and mobile networks hand out new addresses per connection. A VPN also replaces the visible address with its own — that is the point of checking.
Why do you show the VPN address, not my real one?
Your real address is not visible to any server when a VPN is in front — that is how VPNs work. Every server on the path sees the VPN's exit address, so that is the honest answer to "what is my IP".
Is my address stored or logged?
No. The address is read from the request headers and returned in the response of the same request. Nothing is written to logs, analytics or errors.
