About Converters

Convert between the units and formats you run into every day. The unit converter covers length, mass, temperature, volume, speed and data size; the kitchen converters turn cups into grams by ingredient and gas marks into °C and °F. For time, convert between time zones with daylight-saving handled, turn 24-hour military time into 12-hour time, write a number or date in Roman numerals, count the days between two dates, or turn a Unix timestamp into a readable date and back.

The file and data converters work on what you drop into the page: compress a photo, change an image between JPG, PNG and WebP, strip EXIF location data before sharing, generate a QR code, convert CSV to JSON, or turn HTML into Markdown. Image and data conversion happens in your browser, so your files are not uploaded.

Questions

Are my images uploaded when I compress or convert them?

No. The image compressor and image format converter re-encode the file in your browser with the Canvas API, and the EXIF remover edits the file's bytes directly on your device. Nothing is uploaded, which also makes them fast for large photos.

Does the time zone converter handle daylight saving time?

Yes. It uses your browser's built-in time zone database, so daylight-saving changes are applied for the exact date you pick, and it marks when the converted time lands on a different day.

Why does cups to grams depend on the ingredient?

A cup is a volume, a gram is a weight, and ingredients have different densities: a cup of flour weighs far less than a cup of sugar. The converter uses a per-ingredient density, which is why you pick the ingredient first.
