About this tool

Why lorem ipsum instead of real-looking English?
Because readable placeholder text gets proofread instead of reviewed. Nonsense Latin keeps attention on the layout, typography and rhythm — the actual reason for the exercise — while the word lengths and punctuation mimic real prose.
Why does my text always start with "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet"?
Convention. Printers have opened with those words since an unknown typesetter scrambled Cicero in the 1500s, so any designer recognizes it instantly as placeholder. Untick the box when you want the text to look like a continued passage instead.
Is the word list real Latin?
It is the standard garbled corpus — words drawn from Cicero's De finibus, chopped and scrambled centuries ago. Grammatically it is not Latin, and it is not meant to be; it is rhythm with a classical costume.
