About PDF to PNG Converter
Draws each page of a PDF as a PNG image. Pick 1x, 2x or 3x (72, 144 or 216 dots per inch), optionally type the pages you want, and download one image per page, or all of them in a ZIP. PNG is lossless, so text, charts and line drawings stay crisp with no blur or speckle around the letters, which makes it the better choice for slides, diagrams, screenshots saved as PDF and anything you will zoom into. Pages are drawn on a white background, so a PDF page never comes out transparent. The images are larger than JPG files. Everything runs in your browser with PDF.js, so the PDF is never uploaded.

PDF to PNG Converter FAQ
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The pages are drawn in your browser by PDF.js, the open-source PDF reader from Mozilla, and nothing is sent to a server. You can confirm this in your browser's network tab.
Which size should I pick, 1x, 2x or 3x?
2x (144 dpi) suits screens and most documents. Use 1x for small thumbnails and quick previews, and 3x (216 dpi) when you need to print the page or zoom far in. Each step makes the image about four times larger in pixels and much bigger as a file.
Will the PNG be transparent?
No. Pages are drawn on white, as a PDF viewer shows them. If you need a transparent background, remove the white in an image editor afterwards.
Can I convert only some pages?
Yes. Type a range such as 1-3, 5, 8- in the Pages box, where 8- means page 8 to the end. Leave it blank to convert every page. The chosen pages are labelled in the preview.
Why is the text in the PNG not selectable?
A PNG holds pixels, not text. The words are part of the picture. If you need the text, use PDF to Markdown, or keep the PDF.
Why was a page drawn smaller than I chose?
Very large pages, such as posters, would need more memory than a browser safely gives one image, so they are drawn smaller to stay under about 36 megapixels. The result says when this happened.
Is there a limit?
One PDF up to 100 MB, up to 100 images at a time and about 400 MB of images in total, because the work happens in your device's memory. For a longer PDF, type a page range and convert it in parts. Password-protected and damaged files are refused.
