About Split PDF
Cuts a PDF into smaller files, or pulls chosen pages out of it. Load a PDF, then pick one of three ways to split. By range makes one file for each range you type, such as 1-3, 5, 8- (8- means page 8 to the last page). Extract pages makes a single file holding the pages you list, in the order you type them, so 5-6, 1 puts pages 5 and 6 before page 1. Every N pages starts a new file after each N pages, and the last file may be shorter. Several results download together as one ZIP or one at a time. Pages are copied rather than redrawn, so text stays selectable, and each output is re-opened and its page count checked before it is offered. Password-protected and damaged files are refused with a clear message. Everything runs in your browser; the PDF is never uploaded.
When to use Split PDF
Split PDF FAQ
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read and split in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server. You can confirm this in your browser's network tab.
How do I write the page ranges?
Separate pages and ranges with commas: 1-3, 5, 8-. A single number is one page, a-b is every page from a to b, and a number followed by a dash runs to the last page. Pages start at 1. Anything outside the PDF, or a range written backwards, shows an error before you split.
What is the difference between By range and Extract pages?
By range makes a separate file for each range you type. Extract pages puts all the pages you list into one file, in the order you type them, and a page you list twice appears twice.
Can I split a password-protected PDF?
No. A password-protected file is refused, because its pages cannot be copied. Remove the password in the program that created it, then load the file again.
How do I download several files?
When the split makes more than one file you get a ZIP with all of them, plus a download button for each file. A split that makes one file downloads as a plain PDF.
Is there a limit?
One PDF up to 100 MB, and at most 100 output files per split, because the work happens in your device's memory.
