About Merge PDF

Joins PDF files into one document, with every page of each file in the order you set. Add the files, move them up or down until the order is right, and download the result. Each file's page count is shown as soon as it is added, so you can check the total before you merge. Pages are copied as they are, which keeps text selectable and images unchanged, and the finished PDF is re-opened and its page count compared with the total of the inputs before the download is offered. A password-protected or damaged file is named in the message and the merge stops, instead of producing a PDF with missing pages. Everything runs in your browser; the files are never uploaded.

When to use Merge PDF

Putting an application form, ID copy and cover letter into one file for a portal that accepts a single upload.
Combining monthly statements, invoices or receipts into one document for a tax return or expense report.
Joining chapters or scans exported separately into a single document in reading order.
Appending a signed page to the end of a contract PDF.

Merge PDF FAQ

Are my PDFs uploaded anywhere?

No. The files are read and merged in your browser, and nothing is sent to a server. You can confirm this in your browser's network tab.

How do I change the order of the files?

Pages follow the list from top to bottom. Use the up and down buttons beside a file to move it, and the remove button to take it out. Changing the list clears the previous result, so you never download a stale file.

Can I merge a password-protected PDF?

No. A file protected with a password is refused with its name in the message, because its pages cannot be copied. Remove the password in the program that created it, then add the file again.

Will the merged PDF keep selectable text and quality?

Yes. Pages are copied across rather than redrawn, so text stays selectable and images keep their quality. Bookmarks, form fields and similar document-level features of the individual files are not carried over, only the pages.

Is there a limit?

Up to 50 files and 100 MB in total per merge, because the work happens in your device's memory. For more, merge in stages.

Can I merge only some pages of a file?

Not in this tool. Use Split PDF to extract the pages you want into their own file, then add that file here.
